Highly HIGHLY recommend this place for your safety check! I didn’t have an appointment, just drove up around 1230, and didn’t have to wait at all for my safety check. Maybe I just got lucky, but even when I came back after DMV, I only had to wait about 5 minutes. Both parts of the process at McCully Union Services took less than 20 minutes total, and only cost $26.
Gina is the BEST, she was so sweet and helpful, and told me step-by-step what I needed to do to register my car after I left. I was able to come back and finish the whole process in about 2 hours (including time waiting at the DMV with no appointment, then driving back to McCully Union Services to do the last part).
They’ll put your new plates on for you for $15, and definitely are NOT trying to nickel and dime you - Gina told me what tools I needed and encouraged me to save the $15 (it was really easy with pliers and a screwdriver, but I don’t think $15 is at all unreasonable if you don’t have the right tools!), which I a
