Hopothecary Ales & Brewery was the venue for our wedding reception this past fall, and despite this being the very first wedding they ever hosted, the experience was nothing short of incredible!! So many of our guests commented that they never would have guessed this was their first wedding!
A huge part of that is thanks to Morty and Jim, who truly went above and beyond. Morty was our main point of contact and made sure every detail was executed exactly how we wanted. He met with us during off-hours to mock up the space together so we could visualize how the night would flow. As a very type-A planner, I appreciated how carefully he followed the detailed plans I provided. On the night of the wedding, Morty seamlessly managed the Hopothecary team, keeping everything moving behind the scenes so we could just enjoy the evening.

Been coming with my son and I for over a year now, great experience with Phil,Mia and Brandon. Came in for a mens haircut and was done in less than an hour. Front desk will greet and recommend drinks while waiting. They have promotions on their products and they change as time goes by. Good spot, make sure to call/schedule so your appointment goes flawlessly. If you can't make it, simply call within their policy period and you will be fine.

Such a sweet little store for true lovers of literature! When you drive up, it looks very unassuming. Once you cross the threshold, the wonderful smell of books greets you and tidy shelves going all around the walls with detailed organization. They have a suprisingly good selection for such a small place, and there is that special something that you can't get from a larger commercial bookstore: that handpicked, heartloved, mindchallenging experience.

Great “newish” independent bookstore in the Field’s Corner neighborhood of Dorchester. The staff were super nice and helpful. The space is well organized and has comfy window seating. There is a cafe bar with coffee, tea, wine, and food. I didn’t order food but the coffee was good.
The books- they have an excellent selection of books including books that I haven’t see in the bigger bookstores. I will definitely be back
A staff member did mention that they are redoing their website which I feel will be good and will then definitely be a 5 star neighborhood bookstore.

My mother and I go to their Icelandic holiday book fete each year. I found so many gifts for folks as their titles are buried fun and affordable. I highly recommend supporting this small business.

On a recent trip to Boston we stumbled upon Brattle Book Shop while walking down the street. When I stay stumbled I literally stumbled because I didn't account for the curb I needed to walk over.
What caught our attention first was the book sale going on in the alley next to the book store. Carts and Carts of thousands of books a discount prices. A vast variety of books of every kind, out there in the open. How awesome is that?
After perusing books outside we decided to visit Brattle Book Shop - The Inside Version.
Brattle Book Shop is much larger inside than it look outside...to the tune of THREE stories of books. The aisles are kind of narrow, but that's to allow the maximum amount of book-age in its limited space.
The books are arranged in categories with helpful directional signs at the end of every aisle.
I managed to find a Star Wars art inspiration book for a very reasonable ($10) price tag.
