About this role

Senior Network Engineer position in Devens, MA with a focus on network security and performance. Lead initiatives to strengthen and secure network infrastructure, resolve security gaps, and design network segmentation strategies.

Support modern security frameworks, own firewall strategy, and ensure high availability and redundancy. Manage switching environments, support hybrid infrastructure, and extend security controls into cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and remove single points of failure, manage switching environments, support hybrid infrastructure, extend security controls into cloud environments
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen and secure network infrastructure using best practices
  • Design and implement network segmentation strategies to reduce risk
  • Review and improve network topology for security and efficiency
  • Own firewall strategy, audit and optimize firewall rules, ensure high availability, redundancy, and failover
  • Establish and maintain secure configurations across firewalls, switches, and network devices
  • Identify and resolve security gaps across LAN, WAN, and cloud-connected environments
  • Support the move toward modern security frameworks like zero trust

Required Skills & Experience

  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure access controls
  • Experience leading network transformation or security improvement projects
  • 8+ years of network engineering experience with a strong security focus
  • Relevant certifications in networking or security
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments and ability to work independently in a lean team
  • Experience with enterprise firewalls, network segmentation, and hardening
  • Familiarity with modern security frameworks like zero trust
