I asked the owner, Tanya Smith what her greatest wish was for this sanctuary and her answer was that she wished it wasn't needed. That people didn't interfere with wild cats and treated them with respect. She has had to rescue and provide refuge and Sanctuary for 100s of lions and tigers and bears (oh my!). The work they do is so important and they take such great care of these animals. The entire scope of this operation is unbelievable and the dedication necessary is beyond measure. I have nothing but respect for all of those who work here and save these lives. Some of these cats live longer here than they actually do in the wild because of amazing veterinary care and they exceed the standards that many States require. The team of interns and volunteers are passionate and use the utmost caution and care to provide these animals with good nutrition, mental stimulation and I learned so much about what it takes for these cats to thrive.
