Roots Family History is great at digitizing old photos and and even do old 8mmfilm! My father passed away and in cleaning his house in California, I found several 8mm films and many photo albums that I wanted to preserve and share with the extended family. I could have probably got them digitized in calif but I trust Roots to do it right! And they’re located here in Boise, ID so I transported a suitcase full of photo albums and 8mm films and they exceeded my expectations! The price was reasonable for the amount of pictures and photo ALBUMS( not loose leaf pics but pasted onto sticky album paper). They even digitized 8mm film which I threw in the bag with the expectation that they were going to say they couldn’t do anything with them...boy, I was wrong! They were able to digitize those too. I’m now able to share memories from past Xmas with my east and west coast cousins of their great grandparents with a click of a button. I drew a 7-foot-tall graphite drawing of Jesus that I had scanned by Roots Family History. We initially tried to get it scanned in Twin Falls, but that didn’t work out, so we took a little road trip to Boise. We only had a few days to get it taken care of and thankfully, Roots took care of everything super quickly, even handling the framing! They managed to get the perfect image in just two days! I was very pleased with all the various jobs I’ve had done at Roots Family History. I had slides, scanned, pictures scanned, and DVDs converted to MP4 files. The scans were very clean and beautiful. I asked for high resolution and they gave me very high resolution JPEGs. I was glad they were able to scan my old home movies that I had converted at years ago from VHS to DVDs. I first used roots family history service when I completed a painting and I was looking for a company that could take high-quality pictures of my art artwork for reproduction. A Picture Framing company in Nampa called A+ framing suggested I should try roots family history in Boise. I took my painting in and I was greeted with a smile as they explained the process of what they do.They told me how long it would take, and they were true to their word . When I saw the final results on the computer, I was so impressed that they got the colors almost to an exact match of the way that I painted it I also at the same time ordered reproductions on canvas for my children for Christmas. I was going to use an online service and then I learned of Roots. They converted a large number of slides for me and I also used them to convert VHS tapes. Roots did a great job. Roots is in my humble opinion a very good place to digitize your memories. They were prompt and very affordable. They offered extra thumb drives which I took advantage of. The price is reasonable.
