What can I say? These guys are the BEST! We learned to launch our boat here and you never met a better group of guys. They were quick to help and offer advice. The lake is fine. It is the patrons who are rude and don't follow boating rules. People continue at high speeds beyond the NO Wake Zones. Speed right up next to your boat when you are fishing off to the sides near the bank. One boat was really too big to be on Morse Lake. They Neary sank us with their wake. We took on 5" of water over the bow. If we hadn't turned toward the oncoming wake I'm sure we would have capsized. We were fishing along the bank. Yesterday, when we were on Morse, we got caught in a really bad storm that popped up out of no where! My husband had already gotten off the boat to go get our truck to trailer the boat to get off the water before the rain came. I was waiting with our 3 small children (ages 1, 3, and 5) out in the wake zone for him to get to the boat ramp. While we waited, the storm came! I did everything I could, but the wind and water were too strong. I fell into a full on panic attack. I was scared for my children's lives out there all alone with them! The engine must have turned off/died on my boat and I didn't know/couldn't hear anything because I was trying everything I could to try and keep my boat back, but the wind and tide took my boat from the boat ramp wake zone marker all the way up to the Marina gas station and almost into the covered boat docks full of boats! Had an unbelievable experience with Mason. We had our boat stop just after launching. He helped pull us to the dock and got the boat secured. Between helping us get the boat back started and the great customer service for the other people coming into the dock while we were there. Very friendly and helpful staff at the dock! Wish the owner would fix the parking lot with that launch rate increase to $40 each Saturday and Sunday, tho. Relatively small boat ramp with room for three vehicles. They share the parking lot with Wolfies restaurant so can get crowded especially on the weekends. There is a large parking and staging area within a short distance from the ramp. $40 on weekends and $20 on weekdays which I feel is relatively high compared to the state parks, especially if you go more than one time during the week. A great Marina. I've had a boat fixed by them, launch my boat there and buy fuel. The younger employees working the fuel dock are always smiling and there to help you into the slip or answer questions. The staff at the boat launch are nice and will provide helpful hints. Easily transferred our slip from Geist to Morse. Had propeller issues and Doug in service went above and beyond to get us back on the water quickly. I had my Explorer in to get the transmission fluid changed and be sure the suspension is still safe at 186k miles. Though I thought it sounded a little loose, Lou checked it thoroughly and said no repairs were needed. That was what I hoped to hear and I appreciate the honesty. These folks did a great job for me in the service department. My 35 year old Mercruiser Alpha 1 died out on the lake. The marina folks came out and towed me and the family in. I went with an SEI outdrive and had it sent there to the marina. The marine technicians installed it quickly and it looks and runs great! I would definitely recommend them for high-end service work: fast, efficient, friendly, and competitively priced. These folks did a great job for me in the service department. Was a beautiful November day in the high 60s, and visiting so decided to take a ride to Morse Lake Marina just to see the lake and get some fresh air. Was a lovely park with picnic tables, sat down and enjoyed the view, saw one person fishing. Also there was Frisbee Golf and saw numerous people playing that. I am sure it must be a nice place in the summer to visit - saw b oat docks.
