Specialties: Wu Dao seeks to redefine the teaching and practice of Kung Fu and Tai Chi by focusing on stripping away extraneous movements, concepts, and thoughts while refining and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of techniques.
Wu Dao offers programs suitable for adults and youths seeking to improve overall health and learn self-defense. Through physical and mental training, students of Wu Dao gain self confidence, improve self-discipline, and sharpen mental awareness. The life skills program for youth students help to link Kung Fu lessons with everyday life.
Visits by Shaolin Warrior Monk, Shifu Shi De Cheng, serve to bridge the Wu Dao curriculum with 1,500 years of authentic Kung fu lineage.
Comptitor New England Magazine recently called the Wu Dao training "one of the most complete workouts."
In line with ancient Chinese philosophies, a key part of Chinese martial arts, Wu Dao uses carbon offset and eco-friendly material and products to reduce its environmental impact. Established in 2007. Wu Dao is the brainchild of Owner and Head Instructor, Shi-fu Tim Hartmann. Shi-fu Tim started training in martial arts when he was 9 years old. His parents encouraged him to take up martial arts to alleviate the symptoms of asthma. For the past 21 years, Shi-fu Tim has dedicated himself to the practice and teaching of Chinese martial arts, inclulding Kung Fu and Tai Chi.
His dream of starting his own school to bring Chinese martial arts to a new level in America was realized in 2007 with the opening of the 7,600-square-foot wu Dao facility in Cambridge, outfitted with traditional and modern training equipment.
With a complete set of programs for adults and youths, Wu Dao offers a unique experience for those seeking an ancient path to hone the body, mind, and spirit.
