Specialties: Programs at CME: On any given day, visitors to the museum will have a number of opportunities to learn about the world around them, create, and explore. We do this through weekly early-childhood programs; specialized programming for youth affected by autism and other sensory disorders; after-school STEAM-based learning for older children; and weekend and family evening programs designed to encourage caregiver and child collaboration.
Services at CME and in the community: In addition to the programs young learners can participate in, CME offers numerous services to the community. These include: babysitting classes; professional development for early childhood educators; reduced cost early intervention and DCF visits; and community-based STEM programs through Science on the Go! Established in 1986. The Children's Museum Easton (CME) was founded in 1986 by four parents in search of hands-on educational experiences for their kids near home. With overwhelming community support, the Museum opened in 1991.
Over the past three decades, the Museum has served as a premier educational facility for the children of southeastern Massachusetts. Today, we serve more than 40,000 young people and their families each year, and are proud to offer educational programming both inside the Museum, and directly in the communities we serve. Through outreach programs, STEAM-based classes, and more, we are fulfilling our mission to spark a life-long love of learning through hands-on play and exploration for all.
