We received the referral for Sterling Works from another high-end renovation company (who was not accepting clients in our geographic area,) with the comment "this is who I would use if I lived in your neighborhood." This is really the highest possible compliment, and Philip and team truly live up to their billing. We contracted with Sterling Works for a total kitchen overhaul--knocked down a wall and started from complete scratch. Philip and his team complete most of the work themselves, and the sub-contractors that he does use are long-time trusted colleagues of his, so it feels totally seamless. I cannot say enough good things about Philip's team--beyond talented at their crafts, friendly, polite, and an absolute joy to have in our home. On a couple of occasions, we had some issues that had to be attended to off-hours, and he got his team right on it. We are speechless as to how our kitchen turned out; I truly cannot believe we now have a kitchen this beautiful and remarkable! A

I am so happy with our our 2nd floor renovation project turned out from Sterling Works. Everyone was wonderful to work with, from the flooring crew who had to pivot when the original plan wasn't going to work, to the carpenter who built our custom vanity and the rest of the crew who did excellent work. They all took our wishes into account, offered suggestions based on their professional expertise, and made sure we were happy with the end results. Our house finally feels more like a home than an apartment and we are thrilled with the results.

Sterling Works did an absolutely incredible job giving us the kitchen of our dreams. They weren’t the first business we met with when planning our kitchen renovation, but we knew after meeting with the owner, Phil, that we had found the right company for the job. Phil understood our vision for our kitchen and was really invested in giving us exactly what we wanted. He was the first contractor that we met with that actually had suggestions and gave some of his own ideas that helped us to make some key decisions. As far as timing goes, I know it’s impossible to promise an exact date for a project, but despite the hiccups that come with renovations in a 70+ year old house, they moved swiftly (not too swiftly as to make mistakes) and finished right on time as promised. 10/10 would absolutely work with Sterling Works again and would recommend them to anyone.

We engaged Sterling Works in the fall of 2024, for interior and exterior construction and painting, bathroom and kitchen upgrades, and floor re-finishing. Philip’s team reliably showed up every day to do their high quality work and were easy to communicate with. The subs he used were the same way – high quality work and easy communications. There were some bumps along the way which were worked out. We have had some post-completion work to be done, including repairs, and Philip responded quickly and fairly which speaks highly of his integrity. Bottom line, we are very pleased with the work and would engage Sterling again.

Sterling Works did an amazing job on our complete kitchen renovation. They took the kitchen and laundry in our 1941 home down to the studs, moved/added a support beam, and built it all back up again, creating a new cleverly hidden laundry in the process. Every one of Philip's amazing team was talented, conscientious, polite and personable. They were a joy to work with. Phil was the perfect collaborator - an eye for detail that matched ours with a deep desire to make sure everything met or exceeded expectation. We were impressed with his ingenuity in solving a couple of tricky issues and, importantly, his integrity when a subcontractor delivered something that wasn't exactly what we had discussed. Every single person who has entered the kitchen since the project was completed has said, "Wow!" or "Beautiful". We couldn't agree more. We loved working with them so much that we are already plotting and planning our next Sterling Works project.
