Specialties: Steamboat Bay Fishing Club is the premier luxury sport fishing lodge in Alaska. Exclusively located on pristine Noyes Island near Ketchikan (just 90 minutes from Seattle), the Club is the closest lodge to the best fishing spots in SE Alaska.
In addition to catching wild Alaska king salmon, silver salmon, halibut, Dungeness crab, spot prawn and more than 20 other varieties of fish, Steamboat Bay features artisan hand-crafted resort accommodations, personalized service, and Alaska-inspired fine dining with wild game, prime cuts of beef, fresh seafood, local greens, and a hosted open bar.
All this luxury is tucked in the coastal frontier of the Tongass National Forest, which means guests can kayak the bay or take the island's nature walk to view humpback whales, orcas, sea otters, bald eagles, puffins and more spectacular wildlife along the naturally scenic Southeast Alaskan coastline.
Steamboat Bay Fishing Club is perfect for special family events, executive retreats or entertaining clients. The Club accommodates up to 24 anglers in two distinctive guesthouses, with groups of 16 hosted in The Lodge and groups of eight hosted in The Residence. Both structures were handcrafted by area artisans.
Welcome to the Club. Established in 2013. Steamboat Bay is a sheltered inlet on the north coast of Noyes Island, right next to the best fishing spots of SE Alaska. This location made it the ideal location for a salmon cannery in the early 20th century as Alaska's commercial seafood industry developed. The cannery even had its own post office at one time.
The old cannery began to decline as commercial fishing regulations changed after Alaska became the 49th state of the U.S. in 1949. There are no roads and no other properties on the island, so there was little opportunity for the cannery to diversify, and eventually it closed its doors.
The property was later purchased by the current owners who had a vision for building an exclusive fishing club in the pristine wilderness of Noyes Island. They built a brand new 16 guest artisan hand-crafted lodge right on the bay, and hosted the first guests in 2013.
