We are enrolling now! Established in 1991. The School of Hope and Glory sits in the heart of Leicester and was founded in 1991 by its chief instructor Sifu Derek Smith.
Sifu Derek started has 31 years experience in Martial Arts. His training started by learning Lau Gar Kung Fu under Sifu Chong who at the time was a key figure head in the British Kung-Fu Association (B.K.F.A). Under Sifu Chong he achieved a 2nd Degree Black Sash. He then commenced his training under Sifu Lewis, who was also a key figure head in the B.K.F.A but is now the Chief instructor and founder of Black Dragon Kung Fu. Under the tuition of Sifu Lewis, Sifu Derek was awarded his 3rd Degree Black Sash in Lau Gar Kung Fu.
Seeking more knowledge in the Martial Arts, Sifu Derek started training under Dai Sifu Tsui-Po, who is a 8th Degree Black Sash in Dimmak Kung Fu master. Under Dai Sifu Tsui-Po, Sifu Derek has been trained in Authentic Dimmak and is a certified Ghost Hands Instruructor, which is a self defence modual.
