Santa Cruz Veterinary Clinic opened its doors in the Del Monte Center on 12th Avenue in 1981 by Dr. Roco Mele. Dr. Mele is still in practice on the East Side of Town and his practice now focuses on advanced dental care for pets. Dr. Dan Riley took over the practice in December 1986 and practiced successfully until 2013, when he announced intentions to start retirement and sold to Dr. Neal as of January 1, 2013. Dr. Neal hopes to continue the tradition of affordable vet care and offering affordable surgical options. Dr. Neal’s passion is in affordable spay/neuter and basic wellness services to all animals and Santa Cruz Vet Clinic is the best place to continue this tradition!

This place is amazing!! They saved our cat's life after she miscarried a litter of 5 and they surgically removed the last kitten that was stuck! They went above and beyond to get the financial assistance required for Mystique's dystocia surgery in less than 20 mins and kept her a day extra due to fever and lack of appetite! Kim was beyond amazing and was so kind, patient, and understanding as I was ugly crying trying to explain the heartbreaking situation! Our 8 year old son is beyond grateful one of his two best friends were saved!!Thank u so much, we will never take our cats anywhere else!! 💜❤️

I took 15 kittens in for TNR spread out over 4weeks back in 2017. These nuggets were young and we were socializing them in hopes of homing them. First 3 females went fine. Second group of 3 males came home with ⅓ of their left ear clipped. I said something when I brought the next group in and was told "we will mention it to the vet techs". Those Boyz were better but one male had been shaved for a Spay operation as well as his butt! It wasn't till I brought the last 3 group of males that anyone told me I could skip the ear clip. I never could home the "butchered" ear cats but found homes for the Normal looking ones 4 years ago I brought another young cat in for neuter service. This time IVAN was a regular patient. They discovered he had crypt orchidism so he got double surgery and they treated injuries from a fight. I was very happy with my overall experience and extremely grateful for the TNR services they provide. I'm most comforted by their overnight policy for spay\neuter vs humane

I needed low cost spaying for my puppy. This business gets very busy so I recommend getting there early. The waiting room is very small and gets crowded. The women behind the desk are very nice and informative. They seem to be gentle with the pets. I recommend this vet if you are on a tight budget.

I needed low cost spaying for my puppy. This business gets very busy so I recommend getting there early. The waiting room is very small and gets crowded. The women behind the desk are very nice and informative. They seem to be gentle with the pets. I recommend this vet if you are on a tight budget.
