Specialties: Tucked away in the back alleys of St Nicholas Market, The Rummer Hotel provides a retreat for descerning diners and drinkers. With over 500 premium spirits on offer, a vast collection of rum, expert bartenders, an eclectic wine menu, and food prepared by an acclaimed chef, The Rummer Hotel really is a jewel in central Bristol. Established in 1742. The oldest continuous license in Bristol streacing back to 1200s, The Rummer Hotel was the destination of the first Stagecoach from London, and has played host to historical figures including Elizabeth I, Cromwell, Wordsworth and Colleridge.
Fires, Riots, and Floods were unable to close the Rummer Hotel for centuries, until a Pub company managed it in 1997, and left it to rot.
Prior to this The Rummer was a launch pad for Bernie Inns, which became a national and well loved business serving steak and sherry that many people remember
The Rummer was almost derelict for 6 years prior to a complete restoration from 2003-2005, and is not independanly owner and operated.
We opened our craft gin Distillery in our vaulted cellars in 2017, and now supply hundreds of venues throughout the south west.
