We have two sailboats that are icons of Newport Harbor. Lyra is our 44-foot Reliance sailboat and Wren is our 35-foot Allied Seabreeze. With a capacity of up to 6 guests each, both boats sail on daily charters from Newport, Rhode Island, beginning mid-April through the end of October. We offer private 90-minute, two-hour, three- hour, half and full-day sailing charters. From tours and advanced sailing instruction to proposals or a romantic evening on the the water, experience for yourself why Newport is the sailing capital of the Americas. Established in 2011. On Watch Sailing was founded using Lyra in 2011 by Captain Green in order to bring the joys of sailing and being on the water to you. At that time, Green, his wife Jen, and two young children lived aboard Lyra in Newport harbor. Ultimately, Lyra was day chartered while being a full time home for 7 years! Now that the family lives ashore, Lyra is a full time charter vessel. It may not have been the easiest path to creating a small business, but it’s been a rewarding one. Captain Sam and Wren joined On Watch Sailing in 2021.
