Specialties: Great wine is about more than just the craft -- it's the experience and the people you share it with, too. We believe great wine is something for everyone to enjoy. Our approach is refreshingly real. Nothing fake. No pretenses here. Only the good stuff.
We craft flavorful, fruit-forward wines at one of the largest and most modernly equipped wineries in the U.S.
We are also a world-class destination, offering best-in-class service, beautiful scenery and grounds, and an approachable wine experience to thousands of visitors each year.
Our winemaking philosophy is about capturing fruit-forward flavors, thoughtful craft, and sourcing and growing the best grapes and fruit possible.
We are widely known for our award-winning, semi-sweet wines such as Soft Wine Collection Sweet Red, Cherry, Lemon, and Blueberry Moscato, and Camelot Mead.
In addition, Oliver Winery makes styles ranging from dry to dessert. Our wine list includes estate-bottled wines from our own Creekbend Vineyard, as well as classic vinifera wines in our Flight Series --such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Riesling. Established in 1972. In 2022, Oliver celebrates 50 years of winemaking!
Oliver Winery started in the 1960s as a hobby in the basement of Indiana University law professor William Oliver. Professor Oliver was instrumental in passing legislation allowing for the creation of small wineries in Indiana. The Indiana Small Winery Act passed in 1971 and Oliver Winery opened to the public in 1972. Initially, sales were modest but grew quickly after we began making Camelot Mead.
Professor Oliver's son, Bill, took charge of the winery in 1983. He focused on increasing wine quality, establishing gardens, and providing great customer service. Bill continues to lead the winery with the pioneering and innovative spirit of his father. Oliver Winery is now one of the 30 largest U.S. wineries, with its wines available in more than 40 states.
