Specialties: Historic bed and breakfast with a pub, built in 1826 and conveniently located in the heart of Waterbury Village, Vermont's recreational crossroads. Walking distance from many local restaurants, shops, and the Amtrak station. If you're looking for more options, Stowe, Montpelier, the Mad River Valley and Burlington are all less than a 30-minute drive away. We're the perfect location for a hub-and-spoke trip exploring craft breweries, distilleries, endless outdoor recreation options, and more. Established in 1826. The inn was built in 1826 by Waterbury's first lawyer, later Judge, Dan Carpenter, and his brother who previously had been active in construction of the Congregational Church just to the south.
The inn, or tavern, served as a rest stop for people and horses and as a local meeting house.
