Been here a couple of times. Really great to have an upscale option local in Newark. Prices reflect that and they have a lot of tastings.Only negative is the staff can be quite temperamental, ranging from really helpful to 'ugh I have to talk to you' mood

One of favorite places in the city! Cool Vines Newark has great service whether you are picking something up on the go or staying to grab a drink for a little while. Wine tasting nights are cool. Wednesday are cool when they collaborate with Newark First Fridays for an Happy Hour experience like other with new DJs every week!!

It’s rare to find a liquor store where the staff are as knowledgeable as they are helpful, but that was my experience here. I’m the annoying “doesn’t know what they want” type who is also picky, but they helped point me in the right direction, never acting bothered. Also, the selection is great and location is clean and well taken care of.

CoolVines is easily the best liquor store in New Jersey. The staff is amazingly helpful (multiple times I've been offered tastes of store pick bottles that most places would just expect you to buy by sight alone) and friendly; the beer and wine selection is unparalleled (3 Fonteinen, Controvento, etc); the whisky is correctly priced with no rip-off hype-chasing. Finally, they've done a few special tasting events I've been lucky enough to attend, each of which has broadened my wine knowledge deliciously.

I don’t remember if I left a review or not but truly the best liquor store/mini bar I’ve ever been too we had a relatively small celebrity reunion get together here and it was heartfelt. Add in the impairing alcohol to have in the mini bar and fun authentic staff suggesting the best brain fogging drinks to take home with you, and you have the go to hotspot for fun, frenzied, swill! Awesome selection you won't find in most stores, but the best part of coming in is the staff – everyone that works there is friendly and incredibly knowledgable. They really take the time to understand your preferences and guide you towards something you'll love.Last time I was there I showed the girl working a picture of a bottle of wine I had at dinner a few nights before and she spent 15 minutes walking me all types of suggestions and how they compared to the bottle I showed her. I walked away with three bottle and enjoyed all them!

This place is a neighborhood staple and the staff are friendly and very happy to help. You can safely disregard the few unwarranted lower star reviews. The cocktails are strong and the tap menu is ever-changing and interesting.There's a wide variety of wines, beer, and liquor that you won't find in your average liquor store. If you're only used to the conventional alcohol brands, you won't find them here, but you can definitely find something new you'll love. Worth a stop if you're ever in the area.

The man at the counter asked me if I would like to sample a Lemonade and Bourbon but I had to decline because I was fasting at the time.I live in Jersey City a few blocks away. I've gone to that Cool Vines a few times and was never offered anything. In fact, I never knew Cool Vines was actually Cool.So my rating is based on hospitality. The next time I'm in the area, I will stop by and buy a drink.

OK y’all - (I’m from Texas, so I can officially say “Y’all”), this is a classy wine place with TONS of wine, but also a full liquor assortment and LOTS of craft beer varieties to choose from. You won’t find any of the big brewery names here, but there are a lot of regional craft beers.It’s located inside a shopping mall right across from a Whole Foods Market.Some of the wine is chilled in coolers, but most are on shelves at room temperature. ALL of the beer is on shelves at room temperature. But have no FEAR! They have one of those magical chilled water cooling machines that gets your wine or beer cold in 5 minutes flat.And if you want to hang out while your beverages chill, you can order beer or wine on tap. Not a huge selection on tap, but at least 5 or 6 choices. You can sit at the tiny bar inside, or you can sit outside their doors inside the mall area on their patio and sip your drink while you wait.The store was very clean, and new looking, and the staff were very friendly and he
