Our journey began in 1946, when Wyoming Farm Bureau organized an insurance committee to investigate the feasibility of establishing an automobile casualty insurance service for Farm Bureau members. At the annual meeting in 1947, members voted to raise money to fund the new company.
On August 27, 1948, the Wyoming Insurance Department issued charters to the "Agricultural Insurance Company of Wyoming" and "Agricultural Indemnity Company of Wyoming," and the two companies officially opened for business that day. The company made its first home on South Second Street in Laramie, WY. This three-bedroom upstairs apartment served as office space for a small group of employees who processed the 1,500 charter policies. Files were kept in the apartment's kitchen cabinets.
We've come a long way since that day. For over 67 years, we've provided communities in Montana and Wyoming with quality service.
