Established in 1987. The Mill Design Center was opened in 1987, under the name of Wallpaper Warehouse, by the husband-wife team of Rick and Cindi Silverman. Originally intending to focus exclusively on wallpaper and window treatments, the Silvermans opened their showroom in an old, refurbished Mill in North Chelmsford, MA, where all of the incoming businesses were geared toward home decorating. As the Wallpaper Warehouse grew, and the neighboring businesses in the Mill folded, Rick and Cindi took on the additional product lines for Hunter Douglas Window Fashions, carpet, area rugs, ceramic tile and hardwood flooring, rounding out their products and services, to include all aspecs of home decor. While some customers still know us by our original name, we now call ourselves the Mill Design Center, to better reflect the full complement of our products and services.
