For over 45 years we have been guiding folks and teaching them the skills to be safe and proficient in the mountains. Mount Washington is our training ground, and with world class climbing locations such as Cathedral Ledge, Whitehorse Ledge, Frankenstein Cliffs, and Cannon Cliff, we can teach you the skills you need to enjoy the mountains for years to come whether you're a beginner or seasoned expert.
We also rent climbing gear, camping equipment, and outerwear/accessories. Located within International Mountain Equipment, we outfit our clients with proper gear for their outdoor experiences.
We also organize the Mount Washington Valley Ice Fest, the largest ice climbing event in the northeast, which takes place during the first weekend of February each year.
We pride ourselves on creating personal climbing instruction specifically tailored just for you. Group packages are also always available and affordable. Established in 1974. International Mountain Equipment, Inc. (IME) was founded in 1974 by Frank Simon, Bill Aughton and Paul Ross. In August 1979 Rick Wilcox purchased IME from its founders. In 2021, Rick Wilcox and Brad White sold the climbing school to long-time guide Paul McCoy and his partner Lisa McCoy.
Here at IMCS we pride ourselves on our staff. For the last 45+ years we have combined our efforts to provide safe, enjoyable and worthwhile experiences to everyone that climbs with us. No matter your age or ability we look forward to sharing the excitement of climbing with you and helping you learn valuable skills along the way.see more
