Hans is an amazing teacher! He has a great balance of challenging you while also offering lots of encouragement. I tend to be hard on myself when it comes to playing guitar and he has a way of breaking things down so it's more manageable. I also appreciate that he takes a very collaborative approach to teaching rather than having a pre-formulated lesson plan. During our first lesson, I mentioned that I always wanted to learn Bossa Nova and he immediately pulled up a song, broke down the chords, and sent me on my merry way to playing my first Bossa Nova tune. It was such a treat! Love taking lessons from him and would highly recommend.

Hans Fahling is one of the most inspirational guys and guitar players I've ever met - humble, experienced, focussed and all supportive. Plus: he's a mentor and a teacher through and through. From the very first appointment I left every single lesson with a couple of new ideas and mini-exercises. Though they seemed to be technical they were well fit to my level and helped me focus on expanding my vocabulary and finding my own voice on the guitar, somewhere between Jazz, Blues, Soul and Rock. I found this music school during a google search when I was looking to start taking guitar seriously. I had been playing casually (not very well) self taught for years until I signed up for lessons with Hans Fahling. I was blown away by Hans's teaching method as he was able to tailor lessons to my goal of being able to finally sing and play guitar at the same time. He is an incredible teacher and though I am taking a brief haitus due to career demands I look forward to resuming lessons as soon as possible and cannot recommend his lessons enough. Hans incorporates theory and form exercise in his lessons while balancing those core concepts with playing along to songs that you are interested in learning to keep learners engaged.
