I had such a wonderful experience working with Habitar in updating my kitchen. Everyone I worked with was professional and committed to the project. The finished product is exactly as I was hoping for. I was looking for help in giving my kitchen a refresh by painting the cabinets and replacing the fixtures and backsplash. I wanted to work with a design firm that could incorporate modern elements into my dated kitchen without having to replace countertops or cabinets. I reached out to several interior design firms in Chicago but most turned me down because my project was not large enough for them. However Habitar, despite the project being smaller than most they accept, was willing to do the work! Mitch, the owner, explained that he was sure I will have bigger projects in the future and that once I work with them on this small project, I will be sure to come back for the bigger ones. MacKenzie, the designer, took the time to listen to what I was hoping to do and she had a bunch of ideas

Habitar designed a new kitchen and two baths for our family. It was a big project, significant investment, and enormous success! It's hard to believe the transformation of each space, which was in various states of disrepair from severe to total. We worked within the existing footprint and made complete replacement of every element. The end result is functional and beautiful. I have a lot of strong, but also partially formed opinions on aesthetics and the designer helped me improve and realize them in a wonderful, collaborative relationship. We are so grateful for our new old home. I doubt many companies can handle the challenges that such an old structure (1880) brings with it so well. Every room as it was unmasked presented unwelcome surprises, such as 'remedial' plumbing, rot, etc, but Habitar and their sister company anticipated these and fixed each as they arose. The crew were so hardworking, professional, and friendly. Truly the best!
