Specialties: At Fudge Kitchen we've been hand-crafting our original special recipe fudge for over 30 years using traditional methods and a lot of love. So, you'll find our fudge is devilishly different to any that you've ever tasted before. It's made with fresh whipping cream which makes it smooth, soft, creamy and delicious.
Our original creamy artisan fudge is available in thick, luxurious slices that each weigh approximately 175 grams and can be purchased in boxes of 4 or 6 slices. Alternatively, choose one of our jars of our luxury Fudge Sauces or selections of decadent Drinking Fudge for a twist of devilish difference.
Fudge FAQs: All of our fudge is made with natural ingredients, is vegetarian friendly, gluten free and may contain nuts. Drinking Fudge and Make at Home Kits can be made with Soya milk. Our Whipping Cream Fudge should be stored in a cool dry place (do not refrigerate). It can be kept up to 6 weeks in a freezer. At ambient temperature our fresh Whipping Cream Fudge keeps for up to 2 weeks (if you can resist). Established in 1983. We first started making fudge in the UK, as Jim Garrahy's Fudge Kitchen, back in 1983 - but the story of fudge goes back even further...
Fudge originates not from Devon or Cornwall, as many people imagine, but was in fact 'born' at a female college in Virginia, USA.
A college lecturer was taking a class in toffee making when the temperature of the concoction was not taken high enough. The end product was called 'fudge', which is why the term 'fudge' is used to indicate a mistake or error.
The fudge we make today is inspired by this heritage. Our recipe dates back to 1830, and we still make our fudge by hand on marble slabs.
Our American-style slab fudge is made using whipping cream instead of butter, giving a creamy soft texture and distinctive flavour.
All our fudge is freshly made and sold at our shops in Bath, York, Cambridge, Canterbury, Windsor, Edinburgh and Oxford. Visit one of our shops and you can try a free sample and catch one of our unique fudge making demonstrations.
