We like to visit the animals here even though we cannot adopt one. They let us go in a room to play with a special animal and they have toys and treats in there you can give them, it’s great. You can also take a dog outside in a fenced in little area to get to know them better. They have both cats and dogs and are always excited to receive donations! The employees are super friendly too!

The shelter itself is fantastic. The staff that care for the animals, including the adoption and foster counselors, volunteers, vet techs, and kennel techs/cat caretakers, all work so hard every day to give the animals the best care they can. Management and the director could improve certain things and conditions for the animals with more transparency and professional leadership. PLEASE adopt and help give these babies here a home so that numbers may decrease and in turn help staff and animals that remain.

Only place that we could find that could donate dog food out of a million other places for our 10 rescues. They we're very Nice employees and even though all they could help out with was a gallon zip lock full still a blessing no matter the amount seeing there was no place that could or would in any surrounding countys from waldron all the way out quite a few hours distance in each direction that we contacted that helped with dog food the best they could. There are really good people out there that really care and try helping no matter what. Thank yall so much and hope yall have a very blessed day and that blessings continue

I found a mom cat and 2 kittens and had absolutely no way or place to keep them. After being turned away multiple times trying to make sure they would be safe and sound, the kind director and workers here just would not tell me no. Even though they were at capacity they still went above and beyond. It was easy to tell that they honestly cared. So if you happen upon this comment and are an animal lover, please swing by and adopt a pet, or maybe make a quick donation. Anything to return the help.

I brought home two new members and now we are three just relaxing getting to know each other.I recommend this shelter, the staff are so helpful in parrying the right animals, they take all the time it takes for introduction.I received some starter food along with medical information age and temperament.Thank you so much we are enjoying a happy home and lots of love.

Took home a young catahoula so my other catahoula could have a playmate. Marlo, the dog I took home, on day one is already a great addition to the household. Look forward to many a year with the dude. The staff was friendly and took care of me. Seeing some of the negative reviews; all I can say is the shelters are really tough places... for both the animals and those who work at them. Perfection can't be expected, because in a perfect world we wouldn't need to have such places. I appreciate the folks I interacted with through the adoption process, and stoked I could find a good dog to add to my home. I recommend Ft Smith Animal Haven because I had a good experience, and because I would recommend any rescue shelter in opposition to any other alternative. Much thanks to them and the happiness they've provided. Lastly, $50 for an adoption fee is quite reasonable, as I three of my four dogs are rescues, and the other two both were much more... not a bad deal to help make an animal's life a

We Got our new Family member and I was very happy with the Staff. Very professional and Friendly I Just Wish I could have been able to Bring All 3 Home with me But My Furbaby ONLY picked 1 and her name Was Claire. She has Made My Heart whole After having to Put my Best Friend Down After 13 Years of suffering with cushings. Broke my Heart But this little bundle of JOY has brought Joy back to the Family... The staff were very friendly & accommodating to us when were there looking dogs...& picking one out that fit our family....which we did find one that my husband & I fell in love with & decided to adopt him!! His name is Brody & he has his forever home!! We love him dearly!!(It is a transition for him & us, but worth it!! Because, not only did we get a family member, but he got a forever home!!)

My wife and I adopted two cats here 1-31-25, we were greeted by Hannah and told her what we were looking for, she gave us access and ample time to look and spend time with each cat.We told her the two we were interested in adopting, it was a pleasant experience with minimal paperwork, both cats had their shots and fixed which is their rules and we were 100% good with it.We do recommend this shelter.Update 10-7-25: Here is a picture of our boys 9 months after adoption. I went to Animal Haven to find my forever Fur baby and when I got there a little bit early on Saturday I was greeted by a wonderful young land Named Amber. I am sorry I don't remember the other two lady's names but I can say when I walked in the shelter I could feel the love they have for all the babies they are deacating there lives to but they make you feel like you belong you become a family with them. They ever go so far to give you there cell phone number to ask questions and get help to make sure you fur baby is going to be safe. I have had my baby since last Saturday and he is the joy to my family. He is so sweet and I am so thankful that I was able to give another chance at life. He is my second baby so I have two kids I spoil like 🤣🤣🤣. I would say if you can't reach these ladies just know they are not trying to assist you they are really busy so trust me when I say keep your faith don't give up they can really use any help from people who want to give these babies help and lov
