Had our install done summer of 2021. Prior to solar our Alliant budget billing monthly payment was $120.00 per month. Now we only have one month out of the year where we pay about $110.00 which is January. Our lowest bill we see is $11 and change. Most months are in the $12 and change range. The panels are at their slowest from very late December to mid February and then production ramps back up. Rates have gone up on electricity and only one month of the year has a high bill and it's still lower than our old budget amout we paid on a monthly basis. Also when we got our install done the government was ending the rebate program. Eagle point still filed our paperwork properly as if we would get a rebate. It is a good thing they did this as the government decided to reinstate and honor the program so we got a check sent to us in 2022. Okay, originally I didn't have a good experience with solar altogether. But then I found out our experience was poor because our sales people had misled us, which was completely unrelated to Eagle Point. Eagle Point Solar was sub contracted to install our solar and I was led to believe we were dealing with just them and it was kind of a mess for us. Chris reached out to me to clear things up, and although we already have solar and he didn't have anything to gain from it, he spent two days trying to make things right and clarify things for my husband and I. He and Nicole even helped me to get my solar panels back to communicating with my phone app, that hadn't been communicating with it for about 6 months, and I had all but given up on it. I'm glad my husband and I chose Eagle Point Solar for our solar panels. They weren't the least expensive but they were not the most expensive. After comparing warranties with our quotes from other solar companies, we felt that Eagle Solar was the best. Plus, they don't subcontract with whoever is available. They use local electricians that are under long term contract with them, so they have a reliable professional crew at all times if their own electricians aren't available. Our experience, start to finish, was wonderful. We did our research, and ended up going with Eagle Point Solar. Nothing against another local company here in Iowa City, but Eagle Point worked well for what we were looking for. Our point of contact with Eagle Point was, and still is, Chris Wiarda. He understood what we were looking to get out of our solar install. Never did he try to upsell us. For our residential install, what worked well for us ended up giving us around an 80% offset. The option was available for close to 100% offset. Chris took very good care of us, and he was a joy to visit with.
