In 2005, Priya and Kajal co-founded their first dance school in Washington, DC. In 2009 the company shifted its focus from dance technique to health and fitness - realizing their goal of spreading the joy and health benefits of movement.
A Doonya class consists of four structured segments, beginning with a warm-up followed by a Basics Drill of all the signature Doonya steps. Through a moderate pace, the class is then guided through 11-12 choreographed routines that target the entire body and represents each Doonya style. Finally, a yoga-based cool down lowers the heart rate and stretches out the muscles for a well-balanced workout.
