Deep River Smokehouse,LLC is a center for a variety of smoked fish, ranging from Salmon and Bluefish to smoked fish salads and spreads. Coming soon; smoked local clams, oysters and shrimp. We also offer the Deep River Smokehouse Pet Food Supplement rich in Omega-3 fatty acids made from 100% Salmon. Our vendors have all passed rigorous quality controls and are regularly subjected to spot inspections, and only the best of their catch is accepted. Established in 2011. People ask me how I came to create the Deep River Smokehouse.
The real truth of the matter is whenever I went out on my boat and hit a school of Bluesin a feeding frenzy I couldn't help but grab my pole and start yanking 'em over the gun'le. Problem was I hated the oily, fishy taste of bluefish and everybody who claimed to like it had recipes to smother the fish taste by soaking it in milk or mayo. So I brought 'em home, filleted them, brined and seasoned them and stuck them in my coal hot smoker. People went crazy for it. The brine/seasoning and the smoke takes all that fishy taste out of it resulting in a taste like (if you're familiar with it) the best parts along the upper spine of smoked white fish only without the bones.
I do love all kinds of smoked fish but the price didn't seem reasonable to me so I decided to see what I could come up with. I started with salmon, it being the most familiar smoke fish to most folks. The hot smoked salmon was good but I decided to make a salad s
