We wanted to combine the mid century modern era of our home with our own style including lots of natural light and high ceilings. When they presented us with their design ideas, we felt like they truly listened to us. We also very much enjoyed their interior design service. When we first started working together, they asked us lots of questions about how we spend our time and how we envisioned being in the home so they could truly create a space specific for our family. The design options they came up with were unique and included redesigning the kitchen and dining room to make the spaces more open and user-friendly. We worked with Cult on a complete redesign of 2/3 of our home, involving both major floor plan changes and interior design with all new surfaces. Their process was great and their vision transformed the cramped, dark elements of the original bungalow into bright, wide open and functional spaces that suit how we live. The floor plan is not larger but feels much more expansive, and the use of the space is much more efficient. On the design side, they guided us smoothly through the myriad of choices and gave us two comprehensive options to compare, one incorporating more of the specific things that grabbed us in the showrooms and one with other choices consistent with our overall style. We went with the first but appreciated the comparison. We did not just “update” but achieved a look that is uniquely us. We are thrilled with the outcome and are so glad we “started over from scratch” with Cult after a prior false start on a sort of shortcut “design/build” project that would not have given
