Books & Books was founded by Mitchell Kaplan in 1982. Since that time, the store has become one of the most well-respected independent bookstores in the country. It's a local landmark and an inspiring gathering place for writers as well as readers. The philosophy at Books & Books has remained constant throughout the years: it's about neighbors, books, history, quality, tradition and creativity. Books & Books hosts reading groups, poetry groups, free workshops and lectures, and partners with many cultural, educational and charitable organizations to present special events at any of its several locations.

We love going to Books & Books in Coconut Grove. My girls love reading and they have a great selection of books. My daughter finally found the Cat Kid Comic Club book by the creator of Dog Man! We definitely recommend Books & Books.

Amazing bookstore, absolutely love it. Great selection of books to choose from as well as good customers service. Aiden, the individual always at the Cafe shop within the store, knows exactly what he is doing. Expert. Great selection of coffee, latte, matcha etc choices.

There’s something about being in a bookstore you absolutely have to love. The smell of the books, being able to actually touch and feel the books. It’s a great feeling. And I always love how quaint Books & Books is while having a vast selection of books. I’m even more excited for the new opening of Banh taking over their food bar! Can’t wait!

There’s something about being in a bookstore you absolutely have to love. The smell of the books, being able to actually touch and feel the books. It’s a great feeling.
