I was driving home from a long road trip on Wednesday. I stopped for a short break in Eagle Rock but when I resumed my journey I heard a terrible scraping noise. I looked under my car and saw a panel hanging down. The first gas station I went to said the mechanic was not available and pointed me down the road to Rantz Auto Center. When I pulled in, I was directed to the office where I met Anthony. He quoted me a price and asked for my name, address, phone number and a smile. The mechanic immediately put my car on the lift and screwed the undercarriage panel back in place. I was shown a photo of the repair and assured that it will stay in place. I was so moved by their quick response and kindness that my eyes started to tear up. Anthony gave me a reassuring hug and sent me on my way. There really are kind people in this world and they work at Rantz Auto Center.

My car was caught right in the middle of a 3-car collision on the freeway and suffered a huge amount of damage. Dealing with an unhelpful insurance company, losing a car I loved a lot and relied on for work, all in the middle of an independently turbulent and awful time for my family had me a mess every time I came into the shop. On a Thursday night we hit a large hard thing in the road and the next day we heard strange noises coming from the back of the car. Brought it in Friday and asked to have the techs check it. Of course they did a thorough check of all the suspension parts and anything else associated, isolating the noise to inside the fuel tank. Removing the tank they found a broken part inside the tank making the noise. They tracked down and installed a suitable used part saving us hundreds from a dealer part, getting us the car back on Tuesday.
