With seven spacious and state-of-the-art studios boasting suspended floors, marley flooring, viewing windows, and upgraded lighting and sound systems, BDT is dedicated to providing ample opportunities for dancers to flourish and advance within the captivating realm of dance. Under the guidance of owner and artistic director, Joni Scofield, and a team of skilled instructors, BDT nurtures a welcoming family atmosphere while fostering the technical and personal growth of its students.

My daughter has been dancing at BDT for six years, and this studio has become our second home. The instructors are beyond amazing with superior skills and knowledge, and the growth my daughter has achieved each year has been incredible to watch. We hope to spend many more years with BDT!

BDT is the absolute best! I grew up dancing & competing at the studio and am so proud to send my daughter there now. The level of training is incredible, the teachers/staff are friendly, and the facilities are top notch. BDT is family owned & has been in business for over 60 years. I wouldn’t want to send my daughter anywhere else in town!

I honestly can’t say enough about how wonderful Birmingham Dance Theatre is. They have fostered a love and passion of dance for my daughter at such an early age. My daughter has been a part of the BDT family for a little over 8 years now and it has been the most rewarding experience. Birmingham Dance Theatre creates an environment not only for the dancers to learn the foundation and technicalities of dance, but also the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed in competitions and in the dance world. They teach the importance of character and hard work to support what it takes to not only dance, but to succeed in life. The training and technique offered is impeccable. These girls definitely stand out at any competition or dance performance!
