About Austin’s Barbershop
Specialties: Remember that song? Or the old Burma Shave roadside signs? There's just something warm and nostalgic about a barber pole and chair. The simplistic, iconic forum for so much more than just a haircut. Politics, Sports, Work, Farming, World Problems-you name it - they have all been discussed and any issues solved inside a barber shop.

Jim and Austin have got that perfect little shop, a cozy room with a couple barber chairs, just waiting. Austin says "Some guys like to talk, others don't. It's learning what each client wants and expects that I enjoy".
Come on in, sit in the chair, solve the world's problems or just quietly relax, either way, you'll walk out looking great. It doesn't get any better than that! Established in 2007. The barbershop was started years ago down the road at the Red Barn Barbershop. The Luff family ran it for years before they all passed away. Jim Teter started working in the Red Barn until the last Luff retired. From there Jim moved the shop across the street to our current location. Jim had been in the shop for 15 years. In 2007 Austin Schlosser graduated from Moler Barber College in Fargo, ND. From there Austin moved back home to Shepherd and joined Jim. From there the shop changed names to Jim and Austin's Barbershop. After a year in the shop, Austin purchased the shop and Jim started tapering away. Since then Austin runs the shop 5 days a week. In April of 2018 Jim decided the time had come to completely retire. With that came a name change to just Austin’s Barbershop.
Austin has been in the shop for 12 years now and continues the old time Barbershop.
