Called them, told them we were on the way with a dog that had been attacked by a mountain lion, showed up, they immediately had someone assist get our dog out the car and allowed me to take him all the way to the exam area. Staff were all friendly, kept me in the loop and did probably the best possible job that could've been done in our situation. The vet doc was very thorough, kind, and listened to my concerns and didnt try and sell me unnecessary service's. Cost is great for the care we received. Immediate pain injection, Exam, multiple wound cleanings, rabies shot, 3 medications, and just a couple hours. 595$ thank you for taking care of what I consider one of my children. Highly recommend even if you have to drive an hour.

We recently had to bring our Yorkie to AcuteVet Animal Urgent Care in Overland Park under the most difficult circumstances, and the care and compassion shown to us were truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated both our dog and our family with kindness, patience, and genuine empathy during the euthanasia process. What impressed us even more was the level of professionalism and follow-through afterward. When I notified our regular veterinarian of his passing, they had already been informed by AcuteVet. Shortly after, we received a sympathy card signed by the staff, which meant more to us than we can adequately express. To receive this level of thoughtful, compassionate service from what was a one-time visit is truly unheard of. AcuteVet went above and beyond in every way, and we are deeply grateful for how they supported us during such a painful time. Our 18 year old, sweet kitty was not doing well. Our primary vet was unable to get him in immediately. They recommended Acute Vet. Immediate first impression- the facility was clean and the front desk staff were all very kind. It took a little over an hour to be seen, which is to be expected with triage urgent care. Both the vet tech and the veterinarian were compassionate and listened to our concerns. The veterinarian was thorough with explaining the situation and possible options. With heavy hearts, we decided it was best to say goodbye to our beloved boy. I was not expecting to be offered another room for the euthanasia. Their “Grieving Room” is the sweetest gesture for people during the hard moments. It’s private, less clinical and more cozy. There was a mini fridge with water and juice, plenty of Kleenex, treats for your pet, and different options for sitting and spending the last moments with your pet. Took my kitty Binx to AcuteVet suspecting a UTI. It was a very positive experience. Gigi, Tessa and Dr. Poulignot were fantastic. Very kind and caring. Cost was explained in detail. Treatment was addressed conservatively. I so wish they were not just a emergency facility. I find comfort in knowing they are a option in case of emergency.

I am late in getting my review here, but wanted to still share our appreciation for the amazing care we were given. Our dear Noodle had not been doing well and the day came where we knew he wasn't going to have a good quality of life any longer. We called our vet that had cared for him his whole life, but they were not able to accommodate us that day. We then called AcuteVet and they said to absolutely bring him in when we were ready. We all came up in the morning, the staff was absolutely amazing, compassionate and cared for all of us. They checked Noodle out, said he was definitely not well and we all agreed it was time to let him go. They put us in a beautiful room with calm music, treats for pets and other comfort measures. They let us have as much time with him as we needed. There was a call button there to let them know when we were ready. The vet came in and was so kind and compassionate as she helped him pass. Saved our 13 month old Chocolate Lab Gus, and avoided surgery!!! On a Saturday morning Gus wouldn’t eat. We brought him in, they took x-rays and found he’d eaten a big bouncy ball. Instead of rushing into surgery they put him on hydration fluids via IV and monitored him all night. They did x-rays again Sunday morning to find the ball was progressing. They enemagically helped the ball end its grand tour of Gus naturally through the back door! Surgery avoided and Gus is good to go! Dr. Hansen and Dr. Blouin are outstanding!!!

Took our senior yellow lab, Max, in last night. The whole staff was kind, attentive and so gentle with our old man. He ended up with a pretty bad UTI, without these knowledge people who acted fast I don’t think Max would be with us today!! Thank you for taking care of our sweet boy. You were fantastic!! Any emergency vet services are costly. The staff talked to us and gave us options every step of the way so there were no surprises at the end. We weren’t made to feel guilty in any way for whatever choice we made. 10 out of 10!

Late one night, our dog Kai had an allergic reaction that sent us into panic mode. We went to Acute Vet in Leawood not long before closing, and the team welcomed us in with so much care and compassion. They never made us feel rushed, and instead focused on making sure Kai was comfortable and that we understood everything about his condition and what to do once we got home. Their patience, clear communication, and genuine concern for Kai’s well-being made a scary situation so much easier to handle. The facility was spotless, the service was efficient, and the cost was very reasonable for the level of care we received. I’m so grateful for how they treated us and our pup, and we’ll absolutely keep them in mind if we ever face another emergency. Thank you!
