Job DetailsVent experience required!Intermediate Care - Surgical/TraumaUnit: 3B IMCSchedule: Days; 3x12sWeekends: 6-weekend shifts per 6 weeks.Duration: 13-weeksStart date: As listed in the postingAn intermediate care unit focused on pulmonary care. Population consists of patients needing advanced airway management. Patients may be on the ventilator, have tracheostomies, high flow O2, or bipap. Patient population includes adult to geriatric patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions. Other conditions including CHF, Rule out MI, post MI, new onset/Unstable Angina, Pericardial disease, Cardiac drug toxicity, suspected Pacemaker/ICD malfunction, Post ICD/Pacemaker insertion, Pre/post Therapeutic Catheterization, Dysrhythmias and patients requiring administration of select continuous infusion of cardiac medications or oral drug therapy for Dysrhythmias. The unit also includes med/surg overflow.Beds: 22Ratio: 1:4
Job RequirementsVent experienceMust have Active VA or Compact License in hand at submissionBLS & ACLSCardiac TELE background within the past yearPCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown work setting experienceSkills: Management of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Heparin Protocols, Traumatic Brain injury, Care of Ventilated Patient, External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Tracheostomy Management, Isolation Precautions, EPICYes of experience: 2 yearsWilling to take charge RN role (previous charge experience prebriefed)Comprehensive respiratory proficiency required (High Flow, Tracheostomy, and BiPap, ventilator experience – required)
