Essential Duties &
• Teach core content classes in a self-contained classroom/homeroom, including ELA (CKLA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to meet the needs of each student • Attend and actively engage in grade-level and content vertical planning meetings • Participate in IEP, 504, student support, and team meetings as required • Establish and maintain effective collaboration with grade-level paraprofessionals • Participate in school events such as curriculum night, report card nights, and family engagement opportunities • Use assessment data to inform instruction and support student learning growth • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom activities • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice • Support and uphold school policies, values, and goals • Create a classroom
that is culturally responsive and conducive to learning, is age-appropriate and considers the interests of the students using a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, hands-on and play-based learning, discovery/center-based learning, etc
