We are searching for a motivated individual to consult with customers statewide to properly guide them through the process of obtaining information technology (IT) goods and services contracts. Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor I, the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) will independently perform functions within the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Division of Procurement and Contracts, IT Procurement and Contracts Office. The SSA will perform a wide variety of moderate to highly complex Information Technology (IT) tasks in connection with the analysis, development, solicitation, and execution of IT contracts and procurements necessary to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Department's mission-critical IT projects and systems. Incumbent is expected to act with a high degree of technical versatility and broad industry knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in IT contract and procurement consulting, development, solicitation, award, and analysis.

Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Staff Services Analyst Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Working Conditions

Position located in Sacramento, Sacramento County

The base of operation is a climate-controlled open office with artificial light. Office space consists of modular furniture appropriate for this classification.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Overtime may be required, travel may be required to perform training and partnering activities in the Districts and HQ Programs. Vacation restrictions may be imposed during peak workload and fiscal year end closing.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
