Responsibilities Grounded in lived experience, students Aspiration: CSDB builds generations of Substitute Teachers are called to

In the absence of a regular Teacher, a Substitute is responsible for providing standards-based instruction to students who are Deaf / Hard-of-Hearing or Blind / Visually Impaired
and provides assessments that measure whether students meet standards, in a safe and civil school environment
Substitute Teachers are not eligible for Shift Differential Pay
there are no set hours or guarantee of hours

Utilizes Colorado State Standards / benchmarks and/or lesson plans in establishing instructional goals
Substitute Teachers are called to work on an as-needed basis

Required Skills & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Successful experience working with children Prefer experience with Deaf /

Employment as a Substitute Teacher requires a current, valid Colorado Educator License or Substitute Authorization.
all faculty members need to hold (or be eligible for) an appropriate license or authorization.
High School Diploma or equivalent

Prefer experience with Deaf / Hard-of-Hearing (HOH) children and / or with Blind / Visually Impaired children in an educational environment
Proficiency in American Sign Language at the Advanced level is required to work with students who are Deaf / Hard-of-Hearing
Successful experience working with children or youth required
CSDB is an accredited school

Benefits TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As a Teachers pay state, federal and Medicare tax, and contribute to

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As a temporary employee, Substitute
Teachers pay state, federal and local (if applicable) taxes
Medicare tax, and contribute to the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA)
A temporary employee does not receive health/dental/life insurance
and does not receive annual/holiday pay
