Stormwater Intern (4118-29) Open Until Filled Work Location: Planning & Development 138 East Court Street, Room 805 Cincinnati, OH 45202 Work Hours: 80 Hours Biweekly Starting Salary: $18.00 an hour Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification):
  • Advanced Student enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program or recent graduate, and two (2) years of course work in GIS, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying or related field. Detailed oriented and have strong organizational skills.
  • Valid Drivers License issued by the state of residency
Job Duties (Summary):
  • Assist project engineer with the establishment and administration of special projects (e.g., drainage systems for subdivisions, condominiums, industrial parks, shopping centers, apartment projects, multiple building sites, etc.); reviews developmental plans, engineering plans, specifications, contracts and reports submitted by contractors; ensures compliance with state and county codes and civil engineering principles; design storm drainage systems and open channels.
  • Perform GPS surveying to collect storm sewer data, storm drainage analyses and structure analyses; compiles information for drainage studies and reports (e.g., detention and retention of ponds, lakes, reservoirs, flood plains, etc.); makes recommendations to alleviate existing or prevent potential drainage problems;
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Maintains records and other documentation reflecting review dates, transmittal dates and other various engineering data; assists co-workers with performance of duties as required or assigned.
