Job Description
PURPOSE:
This position is designed for an employee with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business with a concentration in Accounting.
Performs a wide variety of accounting and related functions essential to the maintenance of up-to-date financial information on various Bank activities. Ensure that the Bank’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide accounting to the finance department.
• Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
• Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, reconciliations and statements.
• Assists and provides support to Bank personnel.
• Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
• Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas.
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws.
• Constantly update job knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• Banking experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office especially MS Word and must be proficient in Excel.
• Experience with COCC, Prologue, Banktel and/or Blackline systems a plus.
• Excellent communication and administrative skills.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills.
• Ability to meet all assigned deadlines.
EFFORT:
• Able to meet strict deadlines.
• Work includes changing priorities for multiple, simultaneous projects
• Will be sitting while performing computer data entry functions approximately 6-8 hours per day.
• Essential to follow written and verbal directions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, photocopiers, and scanners.
• Requires occasional lifting/ carrying equipment/ boxes of up to 30 pounds within work area.
• Moderate time spend communicating verbally using telephone to exchange information.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance visions, ability to adjust focus.
• Mental and visual acuity is a must to concentrate for long periods of time
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Standard 40 -hour work week expected, though position occasionally requires early arrival, late departure, and/or Saturday / Sunday hours during the standard month end-, quarter end and year end accounting cycles.
