LCSD7 is in search of a Special Education Teacher. Teaching grades K-6 at Fremont/AD Hay elementary schools. The projected start date is August 19, 2025. FTE 1.0. Salary Range $40,178 - $79,789. Open until filled.
Special Qualifications:
• Valid State of Oregon TSPC Licensure
• Special Education Endorsement
• Experience in Special Education classroom with specially designed instruction
• Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
• Experience with student management and discipline
• First Aid / CPR Certified

SUPERVISOR: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist students in learning and developing skills which contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Including but not limited to the following:
• Provides direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
• Meet with parents to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their individualized educational needs.
• Confer with parents, administrators, specialists, and other professionals to develop individualized educational programs (IEP) designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social/emotional development.
• Convenes and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students with disabilities in a variety of education settings under the direction of the school principal.
• Responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for students with disabilities, such that the students benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supported with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports.
• Adopts and uses teaching strategies designed to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates and maintains a classroom environment which encourages learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Prepares well developed lesson plans and provides written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
• Encourages students to develop and maintain appropriate standards of personal behavior.
• Guides the learner in achieving instructional outcomes by establishing and teaching to specific objectives.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Assists in the implementation of the district's philosophy of education, instructional goals, and objectives.
• Assesses the achievement of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
• Diagnoses the learning capabilities of students on a regular basis and seeks the assistance from available specialists as required.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions for the safety of students and the protection of equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
• Assists in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student conduct.
• Develops fair and reasonable rules of student behavior and establishes procedures to maintain order in the classroom.
• Makes reasonable provisions for student and parent conferences.
• Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or volunteers and evaluates their job performance when requested.
• Strives to improve instructional skills and provisional competence.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and other work conditions will be in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement and board policies.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with board policy and applicable Oregon Statutes.
