Job Description

Position Title: Special Education Teacher Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction, support, and programming to meet the diverse learning, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students with disabilities. This role requires collaboration with families, related service providers, and general education staff to ensure students access the curriculum and reach their full potential. Responsibilities • Develop and implementIndividualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations. • Deliver specialized instruction in small groups, 1:1, or inclusive classroom settings. • Modify and adapt the curriculum, materials, and teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles. • Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed. • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to promote student success. • Implement behavior support plans in alignment with positive behavior intervention strategies. • Provide instruction in academic, functional, social-emotional, and life skills domains as appropriate. • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings. • Maintain accurate documentation and reports in compliance with district and state guidelines. • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field (required). • Valid NH Teacher Certification in Special Education (required). • Knowledge of IEP development, instructional modifications, and assistive technology. • Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in special education. • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. • Experience working with students with diverse disabilities (preferred).
