Our Social Media intern will work with our Digital Department to develop content and execute the strategic vision for all minor social media platforms for the Minnesota Wild. The Social Media intern will assist in creating content for all of the team’s social media platforms, engaging with fans, implementing social media trends, and attending team events to support with coverage. This intern will be required to work events, nights and weekends as needed. Applicants for this internship are required to have experience using social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, as well as Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop and Premiere).

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Attend:
    • Community events
    • Foundation events
    • Player hospital visits
    • Brand activation initiatives (pregame parties, etc.)
    • Home games (as needed)
  • Schedule & post content for the following accounts: (minor accounts)
    • Wild Gives Back
    • MN Wild Pup
    • Wild on 7th (as needed)
    • Hockey Day Minnesota (as needed)
  • Daily maintenance on the following accounts: (minor accounts)
    • Wild Gives Back
    • MN Wild Pup
    • Wild on 7th
    • Hockey Day Minnesota
  • Assist in basic web tasks on game days.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
  • Recent college graduate, major in marketing, communications, film/digital cinematography, creative writing or other similar fields preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience and knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter “X”, Facebook, and Instagram specifically required)
  • Capturing engaging content (camera knowledge / iPhone videos)
  • Editing photo/video content (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom)
  • Social media scheduling services such as Sprout Social and/or Hootsuite (not needed but a bonus)
  • Experience with a project management system, Wrike preferred but not required.
  • Assist in basic web tasks on game days.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, lifting, and grasping.
  • Position may require extended periods of time sitting or standing.
  • Must be able to work extended hours (40+ hours per week on occasion) including some nights, weekends, and holidays for games and events.
