The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications for a Part-Time Jailer. Applicants for this position will be responsible for the supervision of daily inmate activities. This involves providing safety and security for inmates and employees. Applicants should have knowledge of booking procedures, possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication skills. Additional requirements: knowledge of filing system, knowledge of control board system, excellent intervention skills and the ability to resolve disputes, knowledge of state laws, excellent computer skills, ability to deal with intoxicated, sick or suicidal inmates, excellent organization and time management skills, professionalism and the ability to work as a team. This position requires an individual to have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
