The Senior Service Contract Specialist (Sr. SCS) is a subject matter expert on Cloud contracting, CDW’s Statements of Work (SOWs) and our SOW Process. The Sr. SCS will help define and develop the SOW Process for Cloud Consumption and Cloud Managed, including developing and maintaining training materials and knowledge sharing tools (e.g. SOW Team Wiki and onboarding manual). The Sr. SCS will act as subject matter expert for Cloud Consumption and Cloud Managed SOWs reviewing and approving escalation requests and being a point of contact for SCSs with questions that might pertain to customers. The Sr. SCS also drafts and edits SOWs from the assignment queue, primarily focusing on handling more complex, escalated or high visibility requests that require the exercise of independent discretion and judgment based on the Sr. SCS’s subject matter expertise.
Key Areas of Responsibility

* Responsible for SOW drafting for all Cloud Consumption and Cloud Managed opportunities across segments.

* Serve as the primary escalation point for CDW’s sellers and Contract Specialists and assume lead responsibility for coordinating and resolving SOW issues in consultation with CDW’s legal counsel and relevant stakeholders (e.g., Contract Specialists, Partner Service Managers, Client Engagement Supervisors/Managers, and other internal and external resources).

* Assume primary responsibility for drafting more complex, escalated or high visibility SOW requests; which includes reviewing, editing, and responding to SOW related questions, with special attention to potential legal and business risk factors for the company in order to minimize and mitigate risk for CDW and its partners and customers. Draft other SOWs from the assignment queue as may be needed to help manage and meet workflow needs for the department.

* Exercise independent discretion and judgment with respect to more complex, escalated or high visibility SOW requests, including by evaluating and recommending options for addressing partner or customer requirements and CDW’s potential legal or business risks.

* Proactively help identify, define and develop quality control standards to be applied in evaluating individual and department performance in the SOW process.

* Exercise department and company knowledge in SOW policies and procedures in order to provide assistance and support to various internal and external stakeholders.

* Establish and maintain a strong, close working relationship with Service Contract Specialists, Partner Service Managers, Client Engagement Supervisors/Managers, and other internal and external resources.

* Collaborate with department leadership to train new hires, acting as onboarding buddy and primary point of contact during training of new coworker. In conjunction, update and maintain SCS Onboarding manual, SOW Team Wiki, and other training material as primary source of reference for new-hires and SCS team.

* In collaboration with department leadership, document business and review processes and policies, developing detailed instructions and guidance for various service contracts so that CDW policy is consistent, clear, and offers the optimum risk/reward ratio.

* Provide regular status and reporting on issues to management, utilizing subject matter expertise to document, evaluate and make pertinent recommendations or suggestions.

* Oversee contracting process, including providing guidance, communication and coordination for all internal and external stakeholders. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction via fast, accurate, and professional contract creation.

* Drive and support sales by demonstrating subject matter expertise across the entire services contracting business unit, utilizing expertise to assist sales by advising on contract SOWs, terms and conditions and related content areas to help effectively drive incremental revenues in high-margin services sales, ensuring an efficient and productive workflow for all stakeholders.

* Mitigate the risk of service sales by spotting potential legal, business, and compliance issues via a professionally written contract vehicle.

* Build strong relationships with key coworkers and outside personnel, becoming an advocate for the team and our goals.

* Provide services contract training to sales, services teams, and management.

* Serve as escalation point for issues for SOW and services contracting related items, as they arise.

* Perform various administrative, support, auditing, project-related and other work, assigned on an as needed basis

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree.

* 4 years contracts-related and/or editorial experience.

Required Qualifications

* Strong analytical skills with ability to recognize both business and legal risks and opportunities.

* Ability to perform independently at a high level with minimal oversight.

* Excellent oral and written communications skills.

* Ability to multi-task, to perform well under tight time constraints, to meet hard deadlines, and to respond quickly to emergent issues with poise and composure.

* A diplomatic and professional approach to business contacts.

* Proficiency with PC; command of MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook.

* Ability to maintain concentrated focus on details to spot even the most minor discrepancies and anomalies in contract documentation and scope statements.

* Contracting experience in cloud contracting with AWS, GCP or MSFT Azure.

* Cloud Reseller contracting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

* 6 years of experience in the field of professional services or other applicable information technology practice areas.

* Background and relevant experience working directly in editing, journalism, technical writing, contract drafting, law, and/or information technology.

* Experience with contract management software or other contract management workflow tools, such as Aptris, Sharepoint and Emptoris.
