Position Details

Budgeting, Administration and Finance at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Senior Contract Administrator. This position will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating contracts with vendors, service providers, and partners to support the institutions academic, research, and operational goals, while ensuring compliance with University policies and legal regulations. The Senior Contract Administrator will collaborate with various University departments to minimize risk, maximize value, and ensure that all contracts align with the strategic objectives of the University and reports to the Assistant Vice President for Administration Services and Risk Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate contracts with vendors, service providers, and partners.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and University policies.
• Maintain accurate records of all contracts and related documents.
• Provide guidance on contract-related issues to university staff and stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contractual agreements.
• Support the development and implementation of contract management policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of contract law and legal regulations.
• Strong understanding of university policies and procedures.
• Proven experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to assess and mitigate contractual risks.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Minimum requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or a related area.
• Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and legal principles.
• Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Highly Preferred

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in contract administration within a higher education institution.
• Professional certification in contract management (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager - CPCM).
• Experience with construction contracts and professional affiliation agreements.
• Familiarity with university policies and procedures, especially in procurement and risk management.
• Proven track record in successfully managing large or high-risk contracts.

Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Summer: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
