Truck & Trailer Mechanic (MIG + Stick | Steel + Aluminum) Location: Walbridge, Ohio Type: Full-Time Shop-Based + Occasional Internal Road Calls Pay $38.00–$45.00/hour Final rate based on experience, diagnostics, and a hands-on weld/fabrication test (steel + aluminum). Position Overview We are hiring a skilled Truck & Trailer Mechanic with welding and fabrication experience to maintain and repair semi tractors and trailers. This position is primarily shop-based with occasional road calls for our internal equipment (not customer service calls). Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 8 semi tractors and trailers • Perform repairs on brakes, suspension, steering, driveline, air systems, electrical, lighting, hubs/axles • Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections • Welding & fabrication (REQUIRED): • * MIG and Stick welding • Repair/fabricate in steel and aluminum • Structural and repair welding, brackets, reinforcements, trailer repairs, and fabrication work as needed • Respond to internal road calls as needed to get equipment running safely and quickly • Document work completed and maintain accurate maintenance records • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures Requirements • 2+ years hands-on experience with trucks and/or trailers • Welding/fabrication REQUIRED: MIG + Stick, steel + aluminum • Must be able to pass a practical weld/fabrication test • Strong diagnostic skills and ability to work independently • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation • Able to lift, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods Benefits • Vacation Pay • Holiday Pay • Personal Pay (PTO) • Health Insurance • 401(k) Company DescriptionOur company has been trucking for 46 years, we specialize in dry bulk, van, flatbed and oversize loads.
