Military OneSource is currently looking for experienced team members to provide tax support to military members and their families. Your role will be to provide information and guidance on basic tax inquiries they may have regarding the filling of their current year taxes.
Come join our time as a full time or part time Seasonal Tax Consultant. This role will be FULLY REMOTE providing not only the equipment you will need, but also training to enhance your tax knowledge to the point where you will feel comfortable working independently and with minimal supervision.
Our ideal candidate will need to be flexible as our business hours are from 7 am to 11 pm. We offer a variety of schedules, and everyone will be required to work at least 25h a week (including working a min of 8h over the weekends).
Tax Consultants will operate telephonically providing guidance and information on military tax or software issues to help Military Service members complete filing of past and current year taxes.
Some of our tax guidance or information provided will be focused on assisting with Military Spouse special exclusions, variation of Military Tax Laws on a state-by-state basis, special pay, flexible extensions, and other unique deductions.
Required Skills:
- Strong customer service skills with ability to empathize and instill confidence
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Word
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Required Education / Qualifications:
- Must be US Citizen
- Minimum of two recent seasons of tax preparation experience
- Prior experience in business, finance, accounting or tax providing knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts and familiarity with form 1040 to instill confidence.
- Must possess Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Training by December 31st
- Strong skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of military tax laws
- Experience providing support in technical PC environment
- College degree
