Farmingdale State College seeks to hire a full-time Graphic Designer to join its Office for Marketing and Communications. Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand and Marketing and working with various departments throughout the campus community, the Graphic Designer will:

  • Develop unique designs for College-wide and recruitment materials for both print and web that are consistent with the College's brand identity.
  • Design campaign communications graphics for social media, FSC's e-newsletter, campus video bulletin boards, electronic roadway signs and other locations that are consistently branded across multiple platforms.
  • Update existing College-wide event, marketing, admissions, brochures, student engagement materials for both print and web.
  • Represent the Office for Marketing and Communications as a committee member on College-wide committees and task forces.
  • Identify, select and manage suitable vendors for print and other projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials.
  • Assist on various design team projects and photo and video shoots.

The Graphic Designer should demonstrate experience working within established brand guidelines. The candidate must be detail- and deadline-oriented, proactive, collaborative and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field.
  • Three years professional experience in graphic design.
  • Experience in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft suite.

An online or pdf portfolio of sample design work MUST be submitted with resume.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in related field.
  • Experience with HTML/CSS, familiarity with Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Bridge, Microsoft suite.
  • Previous experience in higher education.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, April 12, 2024, and ending Thursday, April 25, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Saturday, May 11, 2024
  • SALARY: $55,000 + $3,087 in downstate location pay = $58,087 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
