We are looking to add a Project Manager Intern to our team! This role is responsible for learning how to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects by assisting with all phases of a project. This entails working with a variety of stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress. The main focus of this position is to build a baseline understanding of the project management department and its interactions with the on-site team and other internal departments. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, stay organized, and must work well under pressure. Job-site travel might be throughout the summer. This is a very fast-paced, schedule driven position, and you must have excellent interpersonal skills. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:
- Train with Project Managers and Pre-Construction Estimators on Cooper Steel projects, processes, etc.
- Assist on successful and timely completion of Cooper Steel projects
- Work with Project Coordinators to understand job flow and document transmittal
- Clearly communicate with all on-site team members, subcontractors, erectors, and other personnel
- Learn to understand and work with Cooper Steel software and programs such as Raken, QuickBase, Tekla, etc.
- Maintain real-time project timeline and data to be sent internally
- Learn all aspects and train/shadow on responsibilities of On-Site Project Management roles
- Travel to job sites occasionally
