Role Overview

The Project Accountant is responsible for the proper billing, revenue and reconciliation duties for the Projects under their purview. Project transactions recorded must be in accordance with GAAP revenue recognition guidelines and One10’s workflow. This role will work closely with the Client Services Event Managers.

Scope of Work

• Understands and applies One10 project accounting processes and practices
• Propose project journal entries to manage the project’s funds
• Assist with month-end close activities, reviewing project working capital summaries, project Profit & Loss/Balance Sheet statements, and Percent of Completion schedules
• Prepares other ad hoc reports and analysis as assigned
• Strengthens and maintains efficiency of the revenue accounting function through review of processes and procedures and implementation of process improvements
• Answers account management questions related to client billing
• Contribute to revenue and deferred revenue analyses
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Participate in cross training
• Assist in month-end close process, improving close cycle time

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Applies experience and working knowledge to accomplish tasks and processes. Has working level skills and abilities, but it still learning to address more complex problems, processes, and applying analytics.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 3-5 years of comprehensive experience in project accounting
• CPA (active or inactive) preferred
• Strong MS Excel skills (pivots, v/h-lookups, etc.)
• Financial expertise in POC billing and GAAP ASC606 revenue recognition
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and analytic problem-solving skills
• Strong organization and time management skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Experience with NetSuite preferred, as well as experience with project management applications/systems
• Experience with efficient processes and the use of technology; accuracy is essential
